A new smart phone application means fast and easy information for Greenwich Academy parents. The school unveiled the MyGAMobile app Monday afternoon. According to Wayne Lin, the school's web manager, parents can use their school usernames and passwords to search the school calendar for activities, including performing arts and academic events. They can also look up the school directory. "Hopefully the next update will have the athletic calendars and information," he said.
The app is available for iPhone, iTouch and iPad users only. For those using other smart phones, a visit to the academy website will take you directly to the mobile version, which includes the lunch menu, photo galleries and school news. Lin is looking into building an app for Blackberry and Android users.
"In the future, we would like to have password protected information available as well," said Lin. "Parents would be able to access grades, report cards and billing information. We figure it will give parents the same access to the school system."
The app is free to download. Search "Greenwich Academy" or "MyGAMobile" in the iTunes App Store.
