Greenwich Schools to Announce New Superintendent

GREENWICH, Conn. – The wait is over for Greenwich Public Schools parents and students. The Board of Education will announce the appointment of a new superintendent at a special meeting Wednesday at 8 a.m. at the Havemeyer Building, 290 Greenwich Ave.

A breakfast reception will follow at 8:30 a.m. in the special meeting/press conference room. There will also be a community reception at 6 p.m. Wednesday at Hamilton Avenue School, 184 Hamilton Ave.

The firm of Hazard, Young, Attea, and Associates was charged with holding focus groups of students, parents, faculty and staff, individual interviews and open community forums throughout January to develop a leadership profile for its national superintendent search.

The search was launched following the unexpected resignation of Dr. Sidney Freund last May. Since August, Dr. Roger Lulow has filled in as interim superintendent.

Check back with TheDailyGreenwich.com at 8:15 a.m. Wednesday morning for the announcement.
