GREENWICH, Conn. Greenwichs Eagle Hill School was selected as a School of Excellence for its special education program for children with language-based learning disabilities.
The National Association of Special Education Teachers honored the co-ed private school with its highest level of recognition, presented to schools that have met a rigorous set of criteria and demonstrated exceptional dedication, commitment and achievement in the field of special education.
The honor is bestowed upon only a few select qualified licensed private special education schools throughout the United States and just two schools in the state of Connecticut were honored this year, according to the letter of congratulations from Executive Directors Roger Pierangelo and George Giuliani to Eagle Hill Head of School Marjorie E. Castro.
More than 250 children ages 6-16 attend Eagle Hill from Fairfield and Westchester counties, as well as New York City and Boston and from around the world. The schools intensive educational program is skills-driven rather than grade-driven. It offers a small, close-knit atmosphere.
