With 15 years of information technology and management experience, Ting joins the district after most recently leading a team at the Stamford-based Encompass Digital Media, an IT consulting firm with clients throughout the Northeast.
“Michael Ting possesses technical expertise across all domains of technology, paired with an ability to communicate complex subject matter clearly," says Phil Dunn, the school district's chief information officer. "This rare combination of skills is needed to sustain and grow the district’s vision of the digital learning environment.”
Ting has worked in the information technology services field since 2000, when he began his career at First Virtual Communication in Redwood City, California. Since moving to the Northeast, he has worked for numerous firms managing IT systems and staff.
Ting’s employers have included: Tournament One in Stamford; Arkadium in New York City, where he served as director of IT; and the TNS Group in Stamford, where he was project engineering team lead.
As director of service delivery for LANStatus, an IT consulting firm in Trumbull, Ting managed a senior level engineering team.
Since September, he has managed corporate IT infrastructures for television broadcasting networks as senior IT systems engineer for Encompass.
Ting earned a bachelor of science degree in computer science from Charter Oak State College in New Britain. He also holds a Citrix certified administrator certification.
