Since May, Monaco has been interim assistant principal of the North Mianus Elementary School in the Greenwich Public School District.

According to a recently released Greenwich Public Schools announcement, Monaco began her teaching career as a special education teacher in an independent school, where she worked extensively with children with special needs.

She then moved on to public education and joined the Greenwich Public Schools in 2009 as an educational evaluator. Within that role, Monaco worked in many of the schools in the district and is familiar with its faculty and programs. This past May, she became the Interim Assistant Principal at North Mianus Elementary School.

As an interim assistant principal and educational evaluator, Monaco oversaw K-5 programs including special education, classroom instruction, student supervision, hiring of staff, data interpretation, RTI training, and working with paraprofessionals.

According to the release, Monaco received her bachelor's degree from Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y., a master’s degree in special education from the College of New Rochelle, and a Sixth-Year degree in educational leadership from Southern Connecticut State University.  Monaco was an adjunct professor at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven.
