Greenwich High Students Released Early for Outages

GREENWICH, Conn. – Students at Greenwich High School were released at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday after Connecticut Light & Power informed the school would be without power for at least two to three hours.

Just less than 600 customers were without power in Greenwich as of 10 a.m., according to the outage map on the power company’s website.

A power outage at a Stamford substation knocked out electricity in Stamford and Greenwich on Wednesday morning, according to Mitch Gross, a representative of the utility company. About 12,649 were without power after the initial failure at the substation.
