GREENWICH, Conn. Jason Goldstein, a teacher and instructional coach at Greenwich High School, has been appointed head of Cantor House, effective July 1, The announcement was made Friday by Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Roger Lulow.
Goldstein has been an educator for 17 years, 12 of those years at Greenwich High School. He has been instrumental in developing and launching the schools new integrated science course, working with a team to write the curriculum, teach the course, integrate technology and coordinate the efforts of teachers.
Jason has been providing strong leadership at Greenwich High School both in the classroom and throughout the school for many years, Headmaster Chris Winters said in a prepared statement. As House Administrator in Cantor, Jason will make connections with students, parents and staff. His calm demeanor, sharp analytical mind, communication skills, and passion for people make him a wonderful addition to the Greenwich High School administrative team.
Goldstein began teaching in 1995 at Western High School in Broward County, Fla. In 2000, he moved to Connecticut and began teaching at Greenwich High School, where he has taught honors, practical and English for speakers of other languages, chemistry, biology, earth and space science, and most recently, the new integrated science course.
In addition to teaching, Goldstein has been actively involved in supporting his colleagues as an instructional coach, a trained mentor and a member of the Teacher Evaluation and Professional Learning Committee. He is a member of the high schools School Data Team and a trained facilitator for the implementation of instructional data teams, structures and processes designed for improvement planning at the school and classroom levels.
Goldstein has been actively involved in both district and school Capstone Advisory Committees creating a framework for the implementation of Capstone projects for students in grades 5, 8 and 12. He also volunteers with the STARS Program, assisting at-risk students in achieving their academic, social and emotional goals.
Goldstein received a bachelor's degree in biology from the State University of New York in Albany in 1993; a master's in education from the University of New England in Biddeford, Maine, in 2007; and a sixth-year degree in administration from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield in 2010.
