14 Girls at GA Named Commended Students

The National Merit Scholarship Program named 14 Greenwich Academy seniors as Commended Students.

According to Mary Lou Evans, GA's director of communications, the 14 students placed among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the competition. Each student needed to complete an application as part of the 2009 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

The commended students are Yasmeen Audi, Susannah Benjamin, Alicia Denton, Lauren Hickey, Victoria Jansson, Christine Kiernan, Grace Krasnerman, Maddie Lobrano, Alexandra Lunt, Christy Mayberry, Kristen Morris, Kathryn Stack, Gracia Vargas and Alexandra Yorke.
