Greenwich Tax, Estimate Board Weighs Project Funding

GREENWICH -- A new firehouse, a new school, a relocated sewer line and a $1.5 million shortfall for town employee retirements are among the most pressing issues facing the town as the Board of Estimate and Taxation weighs a nearly $428 million 2016-17 budget, according to greenwichtime.com.

The board is expected to vote on the proposed budget Monday, according to greenwichtime.com.

The board is scheduled to meet at 5:30 p.m. in the Town Hall meeting room and is likely to consider the budget proposal about 6:30 p.m., according to greenwichtime.com.

As the board considers the budget proposal, its members will be looking at funding for many projects, including a $2.5 million plan to purchase land and design a new northwest fire station, a $37.5 million plan to build a new New Lebanon School and a $2.7 million project to relocate a sewer line at Holly Hill recovery station, according to greenwichtime.com.
