According to a report in the Greenwich Time, state Rep. Stephen Walko (R-150), who has an 88-mile commute from Byram to the Capitol in Hartford, is considering drafting the bill to help make state government more efficient.
"While I recognize there are many more important items, such as our discussion on gun control and the budget, I have been exploring ways to make the Legislature more efficient," Walko was quoted as saying. "It is clear to me that traveling over 80 miles for a five-minute meeting at the expense of taxpayers is neither efficient nor overly constructive."
Whether he decides to write such a bill, he would likely not introduce it until the next legislative session at the earliest, according to the report.
