GREENWICH, Conn. Greenwich's state legislators have received widely different grades from a bipartisan environmental group that tracks lawmakers' voting records.
State Sens. Scott Frantz and Fred Camillo and State Rep. Lile R. Gibbons scored between 63 percent and 100 percent on the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters' 2012 Environmental Scorecard. The percentages indicate how frequently the votes of each legislator reflected the league's position on environmental bills brought up during the 2012 legislative session.
"Living in close proximity to Long Island Sound and participating in numerous outdoor activities, I am personally aware of the importance of supporting clean and healthy ecosystems and remain committed to doing so," Frantz, a Republican, said in a statement.
Gibbons received the highest score of the three, 100 percent. Frantz earned a 75 and Camillo a 63. The scorecard graded legislators' votes on 15 bills brought up during the session.
It also showed the lifetime scores of each lawmaker, in addition to 2012 scores. Gibbons had the strongest improvement over last year, jumping from 74 percent. Frantz earned 65 percent last year, Camillo 61 percent.
