State Democrats say Foley was originally in support of the state's proposal to raise minimum wage to $10.10 per hour.
But Foley told reporters he was in favor of a national minimum wage but was concerned a state initiative to raise the minimum wage could drive jobs out of the Nutmeg State.

Foley is the front-runner for the Republican nomination to run for governor this fall, according to a recent Quinnipiac University poll. He is in a virtual tie with Democratic Gov. Dannel Malloy, whom he lost to in 2010, the poll said.
