The identity of the woman, a student, was being withheld pending notification of her family, police said.
She was retrieving items from a vehicle parked in the William Street parking lot when the suspect's vehicle entered the parking lot and struck her, police said. The driver stopped briefly and then fled, dragging her beneath his car, police said.
Original story: GREENWICH, Conn. -- A woman in early 20s was struck and dragged by a vehicle in the William Street parking lot in Byram early Saturday, according to Greenwich police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.
The woman, who has not been identified, was taken to the Stamford Hospital emergency room for treatment, Gray said. He had no information on her condition midday Saturday.
The vehicle involved in the hit-and-run accident was described as a red sedan, he said. The vehicle was low to the ground with chrome wheels, and the front air dam may be damaged, Gray said. The vehicle should have Connecticut plates on the front and rear, he said.
The driver was described as male with light to medium complexion and dark short hair, wearing a long sleeve shirt and a gold chain with a cross, according to police.
