Water Main Break Closes Post Road In Greenwich

update: GREENWICH, Conn. — Police in Greenwich reported Sunday evening that Route 1 was closed in both directions Sunday evening near Indian Field Road due to the major water main break.

original story: GREENWICH, Conn. -- Parts of thee Post Road in Greenwich were closed Sunday after a water main break Saturday evening.

Post Road was closed between Strickland Road and Indian Field Road throughout the night and into Sunday morning with detours in place.

Eastbound lanes opened up Sunday morning, with full opening expected later in the day Sunday, according to police.

The water main break near the Toyota dealership on Post Road was reported shortly before 5 p.m. Saturday. Aquarion crews worked throughout the night and were on the scene Sunday repairing the damage.
