Tractor-Trailer Strikes Pedestrian On I-95 In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. — State police are on the scene of an accident involving a tractor-trailer and a pedestrian on Interstate 95 in Greenwich late Saturday afternoon, according to NBC Connecticut.

The pedestrian suffered life-threatening injuries and was taken to Westchester County Hospital, NBC Connecticut said. No further information was available on the victim's condition. 

The right and center lanes on I-95 south was closed between Exits 3 and 2 as a result of the 4:30 p.m. accident, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation. 

I-95 southbound is congested for over 5 miles back to Exit 7 after the accident, DOT said. It was not clear how long the lanes would be closed.
