GREENWICH, Conn. Three Bronx, N.Y., residents were arrested in Greenwich Saturday in connection with an attempt to fraudulently withdraw about $3,000 from the Chase Bank on West Putnam Avenue, police said.
Police canvassed the area following a report from the bank and apprehended the three suspects. Vanessa J. Armstrong, 56, of 1481 Washington Ave., was charged with larceny in the third degree, unlawful reproduction of a credit card, identity theft, criminal impersonation, forgery in the first degree, interfering with an officer and criminal attempt. She was being held on $25,000 bond and is due in court June 18.
Wendell T. Lyons, 26, of 1077 Teller Ave., Apt. 42, and Mark Lilly, 28, of 156 St. Annes Ave., Apt. #3E, were each charged with larceny in the third degree, interfering with an officer, conspiracy and criminal attempt. Each was being held on a $25,000 bond and is due in court June 18.
While police were processing Lilly for arrest, they found there was an active warrant for his arrest out of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in Morristown, N.J. The prosecutor's office told police they would extradite Lilly based on a failure to appear charge stemming from a past arrest for alleged fraudulent use of a credit card, forgery, exhibiting false documents and conspiracy. He was additionally charged with being a fugitive from justice and bond was set at $100,000.
