The shocking crime took place in Pound Ridge, N.Y., near the Connecticut border. One victim was identified as 18-year-old Caroline Dym, who was a golf standout at Sacred Heart Greenwich, where she was entering her senior year.
At 11:10 a.m., New York State Police from the Somers barracks, partnered with the Pound Ridge Police Department, to respond to a residence at 23 Fox Hill Road, in the Town of Pound Ridge, for an apparent murder/suicide, New York State Police said.
Officers arrived and found three deceased people inside the home. A preliminary police investigation indicated that 56-year-old Steven Dym of Pound Ridge, killed his 50-year-old wife Loretta Dym, and their daughter, Caroline Dym, 18, before taking his own life.
The Westchester County Medical Examiner’s Office will conduct autopsies to determine the cause of death of all three people.
The Dym's 20-year-old son was reportedly away at college when the crime occurred.
