Raul A. Oliveros, 21, of 24/25 Exchange Place, Apartment 1B, turned himself in to Greenwich police Saturday after learning there was a warrant for his arrest, said police spokesman Lt. Kraig Gray.
A second individual, a juvenile male, is also being sought in connection with the case, Gray said.
The incident occurred March 2 and was originally reported as a robbery on the street, with the victims claiming that they had been confronted by four individuals at gunpoint, Gray said.
However, investigators discovered inconsistencies in the stories given by the victims, he said.
"None of it quite added up," Gray said. Officers determined the dispute erupted during a drug deal at the Hamilton Avenue residence, police said.
The victims have already been charged by police with making a false report, Gray said
Oliveros is also charged with fifth-degree larceny. He posted $5,000 bond and is scheduled to make his first appearance in State Superior Court in Stamford on May 5.
