A teenager wanted for violating his probation was busted by police in Greenwich after getting lost on a dead end street.

Members of the Greenwich Police Department on patrol at approximately 3 a.m. on Thursday, July 12 reported that they spotted a suspicious driver on Glendale Street, traveling slowly.

Officers stopped the vehicle, and spoke with the occupants, who said they were lost. Police said there was also the smell of burnt marijuana coming from within the vehicle. Responding officers also reported that one of the people inside the car was Stamford resident Richard Beltran, 19, who has an active warrant out for his arrest for violation of probation in Bridgeport.

Beltran was arrested at the scene and charged with violation of probation. He is due to appear in Bridgeport Superior Court on July 27 to answer the new charge. Beltran was remanded to jail in lieu of $35,000 bond.
