Police: Suspicious Man Approaches Teenage Boy In Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Greenwich police are warning residents after a white man approached a teenage boy asking him if he needed a ride before the teen fled.

0n the late afternoon of March 1, a 13-year-old was walking on Riverside Avenue when a black Jeep-type vehicle stopped in front of him, police said. A white man, described as about 5-foot--9, got out of the vehicle and asked the teen whether he wanted a ride, police said. 

The boy declined, and when the man began walking toward him, the 13-year-old ran home, police said. 

The man was clean shaven and has black hair, police said. The only description of the vehicle is that it is a hard-top Jeep.

Police ask parents to remind their children never to approach a stranger's car and to promptly report any suspicious activity to a guardian or the police.
