Basil C. Passerelli, 70, of 30 Homestead Lane, was charged with brandishing a dangerous weapon, second-degree strangulation, second-degree breach of peace and third-degree assault in the incident, police said.
Officers were called shortly before 9:30 a.m. after a report of a threat made by a person during a violent dispute at the maintenance shed in Byram Park, police said.
Police Lt. Kraig Gray said he was unaware whether there was a prior history of problems between the two workers. The complainant declined medical treatment, Gray said.
Passerelli was released on $500 bond and is scheduled to make his first appearance in state Superior Court in Stamford on Friday.
