Man Charged With Stealing From Greenwich Church

GREENWICH, Conn. – A Bridgeport man was arrested on a warrant Tuesday in Greenwich for allegedly stealing the money collection after Mass at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside, police said.

Angelo T. Younger, 47, of 45 Mead St., was arrested at his home and charged with sixth-degree larceny. “There were several parishioners we spoke to who provided information on what transpired, and we have a pretty good lead,” Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the Greenwich Police Department, said in late May.

Investigators are unsure of the amount of money that was in the offering because there were many checks made out to the church, Gray said.

Younger was released on a promise to appear in court June 13 in Stamford.
