GREENWICH, Conn. A 33-year-old New Haven man was arrested Saturday while allegedly driving drunk on I-95 with two children in his car, police report.
Jorge L. Ortiz, of 52 Arch St., was seen driving erratically between Exits 2 and 3 on I-95 around 4 a.m. Police reported seeing Ortiz drift from the far right lane to the far left lane at a slow rate of speed without signaling lane changes. He was also seen allegedly coming to a complete stop in the center lane and nearly being struck by a passing driver.
He was stopped at Exit 4 and arrested on charges of failure to maintain a proper lane, driving without a license, DWI, and two counts of risk of injury to a minor. According to Lt. Kraig Gray, spokesman for the Greenwich Police Department, the children in the vehicle were known to Ortiz, but not his own children.
Ortiz was being held on a $1,000 bond.
