Dwayne Lockwood, of Greenwich, works as a process control manager at the town's Grass Island Waste Water Treatment Plant, Patch.com said.
He was arrested Wednesday on a warrant charging him with first-degree larceny and tampering with a witness, Patch.com said.
A police investigation determined that Lockwood profited personally from the sale of town-owned scrap metal and that he attempted to influence a witness to lie about it, Patch said. It was not known how much scrap metal was sold.
