Greenwich Police Officer Honored For His Work To Keep The Community Safe

GREENWICH, Conn. — AAA Northeast is honoring Officer Dan Hendrie as a Traffic Safety Hero and the Greenwich Police Department for its numerous Traffic Safety programs that keep Greenwich residents safe year-round.

At AAA’s 8th Annual Community Traffic Safety Awards lunch recently at Testo’s in Bridgeport, AAA commended Hendrie, a motor officer, for his community safety activities. 

He participates in police motor unit escorts for special events, visiting dignitaries, funerals and charity rides such as the CT 911 United Ride. A former Marine, Hendrie also is the department coordinator for the local Marine Corps Toys for Tots program.

At the annual event, AAA Northeast also honored the Greenwich Police Department with a Gold Award for the department’s outstanding traffic safety programs, which include a Citizens’ Police Academy; and a middle school physics and crash education program. 

This is the 8th year AAA Northeast recognized the department with a Gold Award.
