Police said the man was found dead at about noon by his mother in a home on upper Lake Avenue. Police said there were clear signs of rigor mortis and lividity in the man.
Officers discovered indications of a possible drug overdose from a synthetic opiod analgesic drug, police said.
A Greenwich detective who is also a federal agent assigned to the District of Connecticut’s Drug Enforcement Administration – Tactical Diversion Squad also responded to the scene. The squad is part of a statewide initiative for investigating drug overdose fatalities.
Police are awaiting results from the Medical Examiner’s Office in Farmington where an autopsy was performed.
