The program is open to women ages 18 to 55.
The Defense Class enables participants to learn proven techniques that will both bolster their confidence in self-defense situations and overcome physical/psychological situations. Instructors for the program are highly trained and experienced Greenwich Police Officers.
Class will meet twice a week, either from 6 to 7:30 p.m. or 7:45 to 9:15 p.m., at police headquarters. Applicants may request a specific class time.
During May, the classes will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays. June classes will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Graduation will be held on Thursday, June 19.
There is no cost for the program, but participants must be committed to attend for the full five weeks.
Greenwich applicants will receive priority consideration. The class size is limited to 40 students. Due to the high demand for this course, if necessary qualified applicants will be subject to a lottery drawing to determine the final class roster.
Email all registrations, preferred class times and inquires to the the session coordinator, Sgt. John Thorme at JThorme@GreenwichCT.Org.
