Greenwich Firefighters Tackle Blaze In Home On Buxton Lane

GREENWICH, Conn. — Greenwich firefighters took down a blaze in a home on Buxton Lane late Sunday.

At 11:15 p.m., Engines 5 and 2 were dispatched to an activated fire alarm at 15 Buxton Lane.

Fire was seen coming from a couple of windows on the first floor of the house, firefighters said upon arriving.

The assignment was filled out with Engines 1, 4, 8, Truck 1, Car 3 and other volunteer units.

The blaze was extinguished in about 20 minutes, and units remained on scene for a few more hours checking for hot spots and ventilating the house. The Fire Marshal is investigating the cause.

No one was home at the time of the fire, but the family has been displaced due to the damage.
