Greenwich Cops Arrest Darien Teen on Drug Charges

GREENWICH, Conn. – An 18-year-old Darien woman was arrested Friday after officers allegedly found marijuana, a digital scale and drug paraphernalia in her car, Greenwich police said.

Mackenzie Joanne Williams, of 5 Hickory Lane, was seen making a right turn onto Hilltop Road at about 2 a.m. Friday. Before the stop, several items were thrown out of the driver's window, including a 6-inch green water bong and a bottle of an alcoholic iced tea, police said. Williams admitted she had thrown the bottle out the of the window to avoid getting caught with it and admitted to telling her back seat passenger to throw the water bong into the bushes, police said.

During the motor vehicle stop, 19-year-old Mihael Colandro allegedly tried to hide a bottle of vodka at his feet, police said. Officers then searched Williams’ purse, which contained marijuana, bowls for smoking marijuana, black plastic glassine baggies used to package marijuana, a digital scale and cash. In the center console and glovebox of her car police also found rolling papers, a large mason jar with the smell of marijuana emanating from it, a grinder with marijuana remnants in it along with a smoking pipe.   

Williams was charged with failure to signal, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, illegal possession of marijuana of more than 4 ounces and possession of alcohol by a minor.

She was held on $480 bond and is due in court June 22.
