Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company Knocks Down Basement Blaze

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Cos Cob Volunteer Fire Company No. 1 responded to a fire Tuesday night on Bayshore Drive in the Riverside section of Greenwich, it reported on its Facebook page. 

Smoke was reported at about 6:15 p.m. Upon arrival, firefighters entered the house to investigate. In the basement, a significant smoke condition was found and a small fire in a bathroom was discovered, the post said.

The fire was quickly knocked down without further damage to the home, the post said. Crews opened windows and used fans to ventilate the home.
