The Taco Bell manager called police at 12:35 a.m. after a motorist pulled up to the window and appeared to have fallen asleep. The manager told police that the motorist never placed an order and instead was passed out for several minutes in his Honda CRV.

The manager said the man "smelled like he was drinking," according to the police report.

As officers arrived, a Honda CRV, which was the only vehicle in the parking lot, left the restaurant but was pulled over by officers a short distance away on Route 1, police said.

Anthony O. Pompa, 45, of 6 Windsor Lane, was charged with operating under the influence. He posted $250 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 21.
