Joshua Dejesus, age 24, was nabbed by Bridgeport Police on Wednesday, March 22 on a warrant out of Greenwich for the Saturday, May 28, 2022 incident, said Lt. Patrick Smyth of the Greenwich Police.
According to police, Dejesus, a Bridgeport resident who has a long arrest record and numerous pending cases, and another person were spotted by two neighbors sawing off a catalytic converter from a work truck on May 28 on Henry Street in the Byram section of Greenwich.
When confronted by the neighbors, Dejesus pulled out a large Sawzall tool and threatened to use a firearm, police said.
The neighbors then backed off and Dejesus and the other man drove away. An investigation led detectives to Dejesus and a warrant was issued.
Following his arrest, he was charged with:
- Criminal mischief
- Conspiracy to commit criminal mischief
- Larceny
- Conspiracy to commit larceny
- Robbery
- Conspiracy to commit robbery
He was released after posting a $250,000 surety bond and is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday, April 5
