Thomas Scheuer, 85, Of Greenwich, Chief Counsel, Louis Dreyfus Commodities

GREENWICH, Conn. - Thomas (Tom) Scheuer of Greenwich died July 27. He was 85.

Scheuer was a graduate of Columbia Law School in 1953, he practiced law, most recently as chief counsel of Louis Dreyfus Commodities. He also served as chairman of the National Committee for Effective Congress, as an advisor to the Columbia Law School Association and president of their Board of Visitors, and as the chair of the Ethical Culture Fieldston School.

Scheuer is survived by his wife, Ann Fimmano Scheuer; brothers, Robert and James (Ruth); children, Todd (Luciana), Gwenn (Bill) and Chris (Noz); and step children, Carl (Ande), Rindy and Jerry (Mary); and 11 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his sister-in-law, Gloria; and stepson, David.

A private celebration to honor Scheuer’s life will be held at a later date.
