Roberts was born April 21, 1926. She was raised in the United Kingdom, and moved to Canada with her husband and son in the late 1950s. The family then moved to the United States in the early 1960s. They lived in Shaker Heights, Ohio, and Silver Spring, Md., before moving to Wilton in the mid-60s. In 1979, she moved to Westport, and lived there until 1995, to be closer to her daughter and family. Over the next few years, they lived in West Hartford, Chapel Hill, NC, Seattle, Wash., and Old Greenwich. She worked in accounting for Brooks Community Newspapers, Perolin, Conoco, General DataComm, and Sears, and attended Sacred Heart University and Fairfield University.
Roberts is survived by her daughter, Jean; a granddaughter; son-in-law, David; family in the United Kingdom, including her brother, Jim; sister-in-law, Olga; brothers- and sisters-in-law, Arthur, Morfydd, David, Glenys, Myfanwy, and John; many nieces, nephews; and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Owen; and son, John.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 29 at The First Congregational Church of Greenwich, 108 Sound Beach Ave., Old Greenwich.
