Hopkins was born July 4, 1959, in New Rochelle, N.Y., to John and Colleen Hopkins of Stuart, Fla. He graduated from Mamaroneck High School and from Iona College. After graduating college he went to work for his father at SND Electronics.
Hopkins is survived by his wife, Tracy Sawyer-Hopkins; sons, T.J, Ryan and John; daughters, Meghan and Shannon; brothers, Neil Hopkins and Greg Hopkins; sister, Laura Miller; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, David Hopkins.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 16 at St. Roch Church, 10 St., Roch Ave., Greenwich. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, the family has established a college fund for Stephen's youngest Johnny. Donations to be made to John Hopkin's College Fund, C/O Tracy Hopkins, P.O. Box 4636, Greenwich, CT. 06830.
