Priscilla Lovejoy, 94, Of Old Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Priscilla Rice Lovejoy died Sept. 20 at her home in Old Greenwich, following an illness. She was 94. 

Lovejoy was born Jan. 16, 1918, in Schenectady, N.Y., one of five children of Helen Currier Rice and Chester Williams Rice. She graduated from Dana Hall School and Finch Junior College. 

She married Lindsay Alexander Lovejoy in 1942 and lived with her husband, a career General Electric executive, in Schenectady. They were married for more than 60 years, until his death in 2002. 

The family moved to Riverside 1958 and Old Greenwich in 1978. Lovejoy was active in the Junior Leagues of Schenectady and Greenwich. She was a volunteer nurse's aide in the American Red Cross for more than 60 years. She also was a lifelong member of the Adirondack League Club and Riverside Yacht Club. 

Lovejoy is survived by a sister, Helen Rice Richards, of Coral Gables, Fla.; a brother, Chester Thomson Rice, of Kentfield, Calif.; two sons, Jesse Robert (Patricia) Lovejoy, of Larchmont, N.Y., and Lindsay Alexander Lovejoy Jr., of Santa Fe, N.M.; and five grandchildren. 

There will be a memorial service at noon Oct. 19 at First Church of Round Hill in Greenwich.
