Margaret Heidenreich, 68, Formerly of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Margaret "Peggy" B. Heidenreich, formerly of Greenwich, died June 8 surrounded by family. She was 68.  

She was born Jan. 14, 1944, in West Virginia to Henry and Wilda Corley White. Raised in Washington, D.C., Heidenreich lived most of her adult life in Greenwich before moving to Stratford in 1999. She graduated from the Catholic University of America and did graduate studies in family counseling at Southern Connecticut State University.  

Her career spanned from elementary school teacher to retail trade to her most active occupation, an expert facilities planner for the Bayer Corporation in West Haven. Irrespective of other pursuits, Heidenreich’s main focus was her family. 

She is survived by a son, Vincent (Wendy) Heidenreich Jr., of Braintree, Mass.; a daughter, Beth (Devin) Santa, of Stratford and four grandchildren. 

Heidenreich enjoyed gardening and a day at the beach, especially August days on Rehoboth Beach in Delaware. A gifted sewer and knitter, she was a member of the Lordship Community Church Quilting Group. 

She is survived by her father, Henry, of Minneapolis, Minn.; three brothers, Sonny White, of Greenwich, David White, of North Carolina and Ken White, of Greenwich; two sisters, Patricia White, of Greenwich and Theresa White, of Minneapolis; and her former husband, Deacon Vincent Heidenreich, of Greenwich. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated Wednesday at St. James Church in Stratford. Lesko and Polke Funeral Home handled arrangements.
