GREENWICH, Conn. John J. Abbruzzese of Greenwich died Sept. 14. He was 76.
Born July 12, 1936, in Greenwich, he was the son of Annunziato and Annunziata DiBernardo Abbruzzese. Before his retirement, Abbruzzese worked as a project manager with Turner Construction Co. on various projects in Fairfield, New Haven and lower Westchester County.
He also worked as a senior project manager at Pitney Bowes and was responsible for their National Training Center in Peachtree City, Ga. An avid New York Yankees and New York Giants fan, he loved football, playing tennis and teaching his children how to snow ski. He most enjoyed spending time with his children and going to the casino with his friends.
Abbruzzese is survived by his wife, Cecile Parsons Abbruzzese; two sons, William Abbruzzese, of Chicago, and Marc (Rebecca) Abbruzzese, of Santa Rosa, Calif.; two daughters, Aimee Abbruzzese, of San Raphael, Calif., and Susan (Casey) DeShong, of Alameda, Calif.; a granddaughter and a niece.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m., Thursday, at Castiglione Funeral Home in Greenwich. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
