James Timothy Decaro, 90, Lifelong Greenwich Resident

GREENWICH, Conn. - James Timothy Decaro, a lifelong Greenwich resident, died April 18. He was 90.

Decaro was born Dec. 16, 1922, in Riverside, son of Lorenza Castiglione Decaro (Deara) and James T. Decaro. He was educated in the Greenwich Public School system.

He was first employed at the Conde Nast publishing company. Later, he worked for the Town of Greenwich, Sewer Division, as a maintenance mechanic. He retired from the town in 1985. He was a founding member of the Mianus River Boat and Yacht Club and was a veteran member of the Sound Beach Volunteer Fire Department.

Decaro is survived by his sisters, Florence Decaro of Riverside, Nicolett Craig (Dusty), of Cos Cob and Marie Burriesci of Stamford; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Ralph Decaro and Joseph Decaro.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m Tuesday, April 23, in the Chapel at Nathaniel Witherell, 70 Parsonage Road, Greenwich.
