GREENWICH, Conn. Ivo L. Brillo, a former longtime Greenwich resident living in Siesta Key, Fla., died Aug. 1 at the home of his daughter and son-in-law. He was 88.
Brillo was born Oct. 21, 1923, in Rome, Italy to Gualtiero and Sofia Cardemone Brillo. A veteran of the Italian Army, he had a long employment history with Ferrari.
In 1958, Brillo became general manager of Chinetti Motors Inc., distributors for Ferrari. He also served as director of the North American Racing Team until 1974. He was married to the late Elizabeth A. Garrone Brillo.
He is survived by a son, Walter L. (Ekatarine) Brillo, of Stamford; a daughter, Aurelia S. (Jay) Gilbert, of Norwalk; and two grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Sofia D. Brillo, and three sisters.
A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catherine of Sienna Church in Riverside. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Magner Funeral Home.
