Grace Donovan McCarthy, 79, Of Riverside, Real Estate Agent

RIVERSIDE, Conn. - Grace Donovan McCarthy of Riverside died Aug. 28. She was 79.

McCarthy was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Salem, Mass., to Dr. and Mrs. Charles E. Donovan of Swampscott, Mass. She graduated high school from the Convent of the Sacred Heart in Newton, Mass. She also graduated from Bradford Junior College in North Andover, Mass., with her final degree in history at Newton College of the Sacred Heart (now Boston College). She was a real estate agent in Greenwich. McCarthy is survived by her siblings, Charlie Donovan of St. Louis, Mo., David Donovan of Marblehead, Mass., and Judy Delano of Swampscott, Mass.; children, Susan Ireland, Ann Healy, Jeff McCarthy and Tucker McCarthy; daughter in law, JoAnn McCarthy; sons-in-law, Dennis Healy and John Ireland; and seven grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and her former husband, Henry J. McCarthy. Calling hours are from 4 to 8 p.m. Sept. 3 at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 4 at St. Catherine of Sienna Church. A private burial will follow the funeral at St. Mary's Cemetery.
