Garry P. Colasurdo, 49, From Greenwich, Partner In The Fitness Edge

BOCA RATON, Fla. - Garry Paul Colasurdo, formerly of Greenwich, died Oct. 30. He was 49.

Colasurdo was born May 31, 1964, in New Rochelle, N.Y., son of Janet Fontanarosa Casale and Robert Colasurdo. In 1970, his family moved to Greenwich, where he grew up and attended Greenwich schools. He graduated from Greenwich High School in 1982. Upon graduation, he enrolled at George Washington University and earned a bachelor's degree in logistics in 1987.

He joined the U.S. Army in 1988. After his Army service, he became a partner, along with his brothers, in The Fitness Edge chain of health clubs in Fairfield County.

In 1997, he moved to Boca Raton, Fla., where he co-owned several Dunkin' Donut franchises with longtime friend Bob Braverman. After selling the franchises, he moved to Juno Beach, Fla., in 2009, where he worked with his brother, Robbie, in a family business.

Colasurdo is survived by his parents; brothers, Robbie Colasurdo and Doug Colasurdo; sister Chrissy Colasurdo; and four nephews.

Services are scheduled Friday, Nov. 1, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Taylor and Modeen, 250 Center St., Jupiter, Fla. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, at St. Patrick Catholic Church on Prosperity Farms Road in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. A memorial in Connecticut will be announced.

In lieu of flowers, donations, in Colasurdo's name, may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project.
