Earl Louis Applegate, 72, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. – Earl Louis Applegate, 72, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, at Greenwich Hospital.

He was a son of Earl C. and Rose Ailleo.

He was a lifelong resident of Greenwich. After graduating from Greenwich High School, Applegate enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. He served six years in the Strategic Air Command before being honorably discharged. 

He then spent the majority of his career working for the Dorr-Oliver Company in Connecticut.

He is survived by his life partner Joan Spievak, and his brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Margaret Applegate, also of Greenwich.

Visitation is on Tuesday, from 4-8 p.m. at Coxe and Graziano Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, at 10 a.m. at St. Roch Roman Catholic Church. Interment will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Greenwich.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American Cancer Society or Last Chance Animal Rescue, 9 Beck Road, Quakertown, PA 18951.
