Dr. Guarisco was born June 28,1919, in Manhattan to Salvatore R. and Helen (Nager) Guarisco, He grew up in the Bronx, N.Y. He graduated from New York University in 1939 and the New York University College of Dentistry in 1943. Shortly after graduating, he entered the U.S. Army as a captain. He served in the Pacific Theater Operations of World War II as a physician with a MASH unit in Luzon, Philippines and in Japan during the occupation. Following his discharge in 1946, he returned to the New York area where he developed a dental practice in New Rochelle, N.Y. He developed and volunteered at the free dental clinic at the New Rochelle Hospital. After he retired he volunteered with Surry Services in Greenwich and dedicated much of his time to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Rye Brook, N.Y. He was a member of the Greenwich RMA.
Dr. Guarisco is survived by his wife, Agnes D. Hanson; his sons, William (Patty) Guarisco, and Eric Guarisco; daughters, Elise (Chuck) Thomas, Janette (Charlie) Scott, and Susan (John) DeSantis; and 10 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; and sister, Frances Kuenzler.
Calling hours are from 10:30 to 11 a.m. Monday, June 10 at St. Paul's Church,761 King St. at Comly Ave., Rye Brook, N.Y. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Interment at the Putnam Cemetery, Greenwich.
