Dorothy M. Waurishuk, 82, Of Greenwich

GREENWICH, Conn. - Dorothy Mary (Gleason) Waurishuk of Greenwich died Feb. 10. She was 82.

Waurishuk was born Oct. 4, 1931, in Coraopolis, Pa. She later moved to Port Chester, N.Y. and graduated from Port Chester High School in 1949. After high school she attended school at the New York Foundling Hospital where she became an infant care technician. She was a teacher at St. Catherine Early Childhood Center for over 20 years. She was a member of the Republican Town Committee (RTC) and Greenwich Representative Town Meeting (RTM).

Waurishuk is survived by her children, Col. James M Waurishuk Jr. (Debra) of Valrico, Fla., Timothy M. of Greenwich, John M. of Brookfield, Thomas M. (Patricia), Stacey (Darrin) Green of Cos Cob and Keith Waurishuk of Greenwich; and nine grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, James M.; brothers, Arthur, John, Robert, Joseph; sister, Margaret; and granddaughter, Jessica Waurishuk.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Feb. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Leo P. Gallagher & Son Funeral Home, 31 Arch St., Greenwich. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 13 at St. Catherine of Sienna Church, 4 Riverside Dr., Riverside.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greenwich Hospital Wound Care Center.
