Woman Charged With DUI With Son in Car

A Greenwich woman, who was driving with her 12-year-old son in the car, was arrested on DUI charges Friday at the scene of a one-car accident. Terese Garsson, 43, of 58 N. Oldstone Bridge Road, Cos Cob, crashed her car against a stone wall off Cat Rock Road.

Police said they smelled alcohol on Garsson's breath and her eyes appeared red and glassy. She failed field sobriety tests and was arrested on charges of driving under the influence, risk of injury to a minor and failure to maintain a proper lane. She posted a $1,000 bond and is due in court Jan. 14.

Also from the police blotter:

• A couple was arrested Saturday after police responded to emergency 911 hang-up calls at their home on Josephine Evaristo Avenue. The two were seen physically fighting during an argument. Both were arrested and charged with disorderly conduct. They were released on promises to appear in court Monday.

• The passenger in a car stopped for motor vehicle violations was arrested Thursday after being found with marijuana and cocaine, police said. Katherine Mae Williamson, 19, of 35 Thornhill Road, Greenwich, was arrested on charges of possession of a narcotic, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. She posted a $5,000 bond and is due to appear in court Jan. 13.
