Winklevosses Appeal Facebook Suit to Supreme Court

Greenwich natives Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss are taking their legal battle against Facebook and its founder, Mark Zuckerberg, to the Supreme Court. The dispute was depicted in the hit movie "The Social Network."

The duo, who have also made their mark as Olympic rowers, and their business partner Divya Narendra have been trying to rescind a $200 million 2008 settlement of a claim that Zuckerberg stole the idea for the social-networking site from them.

The twins have argued Facebook didn’t give an accurate valuation of its shares before agreeing to pay the brothers $65 million in stock and cash.

The Winklevoss twins’ lawyer released a statement Monday announcing they would appeal a December ruling by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals upholding the settlement. The Supreme Court takes less than five percent of cases filed.
