What's Happening in Greenwich This Weekend

GREENWICH, Conn. – This weekend in Greenwich, check out a Hurricane Katrina film screening, a townwide cleanup for Earth Day, a boat show and family concerts.

Friday, April 20

• 8 p.m.: Screening of “Trouble the Water” in conjunction with Greenwich Reads Together programming; Greenwich resident Tom Stark will share his post-Katrina volunteer experience; Greenwich Library Cole Auditorium; free.

• 8 p.m.: “Reinventions” with choir and orchestra conductor Mark Kaczmarczyk at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 4 Riverside Ave.; $20 general admission, $10 students; call 203-637-3661 for more information.

Saturday, April 21

• 8 a.m. to noon: Join Greenwich Green & Clean for its annual Townwide Cleanup; volunteers can visit town firehouses to get gloves and trash bags, then trash will be traded for spring plants. Call 203-531-0006 for more information.

• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Spring Tag Sale at Hamilton Avenue School, 134 Hamilton Ave.; $5 donation.

• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Greenwich Boat Show with several of Connecticut’s top dealers at Beacon Point Marine, 49 River Road in Cos Cob; free.

• 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.: Laughing Pizza presents two concerts at Greenwich Country Day Performing Arts Center for kids, presented by Junior Leauge of Greenwich; reserve tickets online.

• 3 to 4:45 p.m.: Auditions by "Diamonds in the Rough … Finding the Spirit in Me" for “A Star is Born” at Byram Shubert Library; for ages 8 to 19; $25 per contestant; call 203-952-9807 for more information.
