GREENWICH, Conn. – This weekend in Greenwich, check out “Stand Against Racism Day” at Town Hall, a shredding and recycling event, family concerts and a tour of the Public Safety Complex.

Friday, April 27

• 10:30-11:30 a.m.: “Stand Against Racism Day,” with a proclamation by First Selectman Peter Tesei, at Greenwich Town Hall; free.

• 1-4 p.m.: “Volunteer Outside on Earth Day” sponsored by Greenwich Land Trust at Millbank Greene-DeVegvar Greenway; wear sturdy shoes and bring work gloves; call 203-629-2151 for more information; free.

• 3 p.m.: Watercolor demonstration by artist and teacher Lauretta Jones, presented by the Art Society of Old Greenwich; Garden Education Center; call (203) 637-9949 for more information.

• 6:30 p.m.: Musical Shabbat Service at Greenwich Reform Synagogue, 257 Stanwich Road in Greenwich; featuring the GRS Band; free and open to the community.

Saturday, April 28

• 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.: NYC Sample Sale at Jaafar Tazi Salon, 149 Greenwich Ave.; free.

• 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.: Bring your sensitive documents and unwanted paper to Greenwich Town Hall and have it shredded for free by Confidential Shredding LLC; fire five boxes free, $1 per box for additional boxes.

• 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.: New Lebanon School PTA’s tag sale fundraiser, including baked goods and Mexican food; $10; 25 Mead Ave.

• 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Woman’s Club of Greenwich’s Appraisal Mania fundraiser at 89 Maple Ave.; $5 per item; photos may be used for items too large to transport.

• 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Greenwich Supports the Troops Junior Committee will support the Wounded Warrior Project by collecting donations outside Vineyard Vines and Starbucks on Greenwich Avenue.
