Truck Driver Charged With Fleeing Accident

The driver of a furniture truck was charged with backing into a car in Greenwich Tuesday and driving away. Police said Metin Canibeyaz, 48, of 265 9th St., Palisades Park, N.J., backed his truck into the right side door of a Mercedes-Benz. Police contacted the delivery company he worked for and requested that he return to the scene of the accident. He was charged with unsafe backing and evading responsibility. He posted a $300 bond and is due in court on Dec. 29.
